Kazakhstan has the largest banking industry among ten countries of frontier Europe & Central Asia region. Ukraine and Uzbekistan rank 2nd & 3rd respectively. Led by market leaders Halyk and Kaspi, 11 private banks dominate the industry with their total 82% market share. 9 foreign banks control 10%, while sole state-owned Otbasy has 8% share.
